Hotels in Siem Reap report more than 90% occupancy rates for the upcoming Khmer New Year replacement holiday. There has been change in tourism businesses in the province as hotels drop room rates, while restaurants and bars offer a more Khmer-friendly atmosphere with live bands, karaoke and local foods. According to the government's official figures, a total of 740,028 domestic tourists travelled throughout Cambodia in July, representing an increase of 15.2 percent compared with the previous month.
